Arriving by Airplane

Amerigo Vespucci Airport

Situated on the north-west outskirts of Florence, just 4 km from the city centre. Airport is connected to some of Europe's major airports.

To reach the city centre
It takes 25 minutes (according traffic) by
shuttle bus "Vola in bus" from the airport to the central Santa Maria Novella Station(SMN).

from the airport are every 30 min between 5.30 to 20.30, every hour until 23.45. The last shuttle is as 1.00 a.m..

from the city center (SMN station) are every 30 min between 5.00 to 20.00, then every hour up until 23.00. The last shuttle is at 0.30 a.m.

Tickets: On board ( sell only one way ticket), The round trip ticket have to be purchased before getting on the bus (Busitalia SITA bus station, ATAF&Linea resellers)

Pisa's Galileo Galilei Airport
The airport is located by the coast, 1 kilometer from Pisa Centre and only 80 kilometers from Florence these are direct flights from the most important European and Italian airports. The airport is linked to Florence by rail and road.

Direct railway lines connect every day Pisa Airport to Pisa Central Station and to Florence.

At the Airport, you can buy at the information office in the arrivals hall. The railway terminal is located just outside the Check in hall.

Arriving by Train

The city's main railway station is
Firenze SMN. (Santa Maria Novella).
Situated in the city centre, it is conveniently close to the major tourist attractions.

Other important railway stations are Firenze Campo di Marte and Firenze Rifredi. Local trains connect these two stations with the central one; otherwise you can catch the ATAF bus to the city center.

Arriving by Car

If you arrive in Florence by car, park it and use public transportation.
Pay particular attention to the notices marking the points of access to the Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL), which corresponds to the historic centre (monitored by electronic gates with information in English), to enter which requires previous authorization.
